Since the release of her debut single in 2018, Zoe Zobrist has been writing music capturing the most vulnerable moments in the human experience. Unafraid to express exactly how she feels, Zobrist writes the kind of music that is healing for the soul and feels like a hug from your mom. Her latest single, “Fade Away,” is an ode to self-forgiveness and a celebration of the strength required to heal from trauma.

In her own words, Zobrist says of the single,“It’s about growing pains and healing as you work your way to and from different chapters in your life. It’s about looking towards something better while also embracing the process that it takes to get there.” The song is elegantly stripped back, with just Zobrist’s voice and an acoustic guitar to melt into. The vocals are delicate, almost hushed, evoking a sense of warmth and security, allowing for the listener to open up to themselves without any shame or hesitation.

Music is innately powerful. It has the ability to confront people with emotions they instinctually avoid. “Fade Away” embodies exactly this. Zobrist’s openness creates a safe space for listeners to face their own pain and gives them courage to overcome even the most overwhelming emotions. In a time of endless chaos and heightened unpredictability, Zobrist’s music is keeping us grounded and comforted when we all need it most.
