Kanye West and Balenciaga's Collaborative DMX Tribute Shirt Raises $1 Million for Late Rapper's Family

Rapper, DMX, passed away on April 2nd, 2021 after suffering a heart attack that was allegedly brought on by a drug overdose. Kanye West’s Yeezy brand and Balenciaga teamed up to create a shirt to pay tribute to late rapper. The shirt has reportedly raised over $1 million in profits that will be given to the late rapper’s children and family.

On Sunday, April 25th, it was reported by TMZ that after going on sale the previous day, it garnered over $1 million. The shirt is an oversized long-sleeve shirt with an image of DMX on the front, featuring two crosses next to him and the acronym R.I.P. is above him. In addition, his birth and death dates appear written on the sleeves. Even though the shirt was priced at $200, it sold out within hours.

On April 24th, 2021, a public memorial service was held for the late rapper at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. Thousands of people showed up to pay respects to DMX.
