Before Pop Smoke’s tragic death in February 2020, the rapper filmed what would eventually become his posthumous acting debut in a movie called “Boogie.”

The first trailer of the movie starring Pop Smoke and actor Taylor Takahashi dropped yesterday on Pop Smoke’s YouTube channel. The film closely follows Alfred “Boogie” Chin, a Chinese basketball player who struggles with the balance of being raised from an immigrant family – which comes with certain expectations, and his own personal dreams of becoming an NBA player. Throughout the movie, Pop Smoke’s character “Monk” and Boogie have indisputable tension as the two compete to be the best on the basketball court. The coming of age story features a soundtrack with new Pop Smoke music, and is scheduled to release on March 5th.
