Girls, if you were looking for a Halloween anthem this year, you have just been served. Boys this one’s for you too, listen up.

We’ve all heard the classics, from the pretty pink catchphrase to the deep-cut hard punchlines – you’re the girl of my dream but wait for it… you’re such a tease. Yeah, girls can tease, they can play, but what if we took a look at the boy squad standing on the other side for once and call them out too on teasing some of us along. Love is a game but don’t complain if you loose. FYI, the fall might hurt but it could be a good wake up call.

Right in time for the spooky season this year, CIL follows up her last EP, Tears Dry On Their Own, with a new and more vengeful tone track release: “Bloodsucker.”

The track yells at all her love heartaches that made her loose time and calls out for her independence. She mocks very well through perfectly crafted lyrics while creating a space of displeasure and resentment. Skillfully done, CIL adds a unique twist to modern love and leaves a lasting impact on the industry.

The instrumentals of the track feels inspired from 007 iconic soundtrack such as “Skyfall” or “Writing’s On the Wall,” which are cleverly paired with deep-cut pop/soul aching vocals, that transmit authentically the heartache that many of us felt under the spell of our own “bloodsuckers.” From her genuine vexed and honest vocal execution, to her vulnerability, mixed up into some echoing almost dramatic instrumentals – CIL once again delivered a bold and what almost feels a naked performance of her inner monologue. The perfect blend between delicacy and fierceness.
