Season 2 of the hit show Euphoria, sets to premiere on HBO January 9th, starring Dominic Fike.

In an interview with Variety, The Florida musician revealed he will be playing the role of a "homie" of Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer). Fike originally auditioned for a different role, but that character was written out of the show, so he auditioned for this bigger role.

“I don’t have to do much acting,” Fike said of the “degenerate” part. “He’s exactly like me. It’s shit I would say and shit I would do.” Although his character may remind him of his younger self, Fike is now sober, and credits his sobriety to his newfound energy and joy in creating. “I’m in overdrive,” he says. “I feel like I can work forever and do anything.”

Fike sees his acting as a second career, already going on to audition for several other roles. In his "overdrive" state, he also told Variety he has been working on his follow up album to What Could Possibly Go Wrong?, which will feature more rapping and won't be as "overproduced," as an influence of having too many other opinions from other producers in the room.
