Now that we’ve officially entered the summer solstice, anything is possible. The days are longer, the sun is shining a little brighter and our agendas are clearing up by the day. If you’re looking to maximize on fun and priceless memories, adding a couple of shows to your to-do list could do the trick. Although most summer tours were announced back in the spring, a lot more have sprung up since the beginning of June. Here, to offer some guidance in your planning, I present to you five tours worth attending this summer and fall.

Turnstile

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don't think about Turnstile. Their latest and most popular album to date, Glow On, has propelled the collective to new heights, and they haven’t looked down since. From their ever-growing fanbase and first NPR Tiny Desk appearance earlier to an interview with Nardwuar – a true milestone – things are looking up for Turnstile.

Still high off the success of their previous album, they’ve announced dates for a second part of their TLC (True Love Connection) tour. Starting October 3rd in Brooklyn and ending November 19th in Boston, the boys will be hitting the road following their summer festival run. With equally exciting supporting acts, namely: Snail Mail, who also released a highly acclaimed record last year, and JPEGMAFIA, who just released an EP titled OFFLINE, as well as a special guest, this is the perfect tour to attend and sprinkle a little summer fun into early fall.

Alex G

Having recently soft-launched his comeback from his 2019 album House Of Sugar through a soundtrack for the 2022 drama/horror We’re All Going To The World Fair, Alex G has finally announced a new album. The record, titled God Save the Animals, which includes his two recent singles “Blessing” and “Runner” is set for release September 23rd. Accompanying the new music is a complementary tour. Supported by Hatchie, Barrie, and Sadurn, the tour is set to start in September, ending with two shows in Philadelphia, October 18th and 19th. With six dates already sold-out, now is your chance to join his homecoming festivities.

Kid Cudi

Announced nearly two years after his most recent album, now that restrictions have been lifted, Kid Cudi finally has the chance to celebrate Man On The Moon III. Titled after the rapper's iconic trilogy “Man On The Moon,” the tour is set to start in Vancouver August 16th, only ending overseas in Italy November 22nd. And, as if Cudi’s presence wasn’t enough, he’s enlisted four supporting acts, one of which has yet to be announced. With Denzel Curry playing most of August, 070 Shake, who’s recently released an amazing record, covering the September dates, and Don Toliver, who will be present for the entire tour, Cudi fans are in for a wild ride.

Grace Ives

Having just released an excellent sophomore LP – more on that later – Grace Ives is ready for world domination (or western world domination). Recent dates for her Janky Star tour, titled after the aforementioned record, cover both North American and European countries. While North American dates run throughout September, the European leg of the tour will take place in November. Intimate and full of character, Janky Star is sure to rule your summer. So why not complete the obsession with a ticket to her fall shows?

glaive

And to complete the list we have glaives upcoming late summer tour. Most likely highlighting his past work and his upcoming projects, this tour is bound to be energetic and memorable. Joining him this September is past collaborator and hyper-pop extraordinaire, ALDN. Following both of their appearances on Whethan’s magnetizing album MIDNIGHT and ALDN’s recent EP good grief, it only seems natural that he’s supporting the first leg of the tour. Enlisted to support him on the last leg of the tour in October is the equally talented Caspr, who’s also released an EP of his own this year. With 24 shows included, you are bound to find a date near your city, so don’t miss out and get them while you can.
