On Thursday, June 17th, Spotify announced the launch of a new playlist called, “Billions Club.” The playlist features artists who have reached over a billion streams on Spotify, including artists such as Billie Eilish and Drake. The playlist is currently live, and spotlights hit songs such as “God’s Plan” by Drake, “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish, “Mi Gente” by J Balvin, and more.

According to Spotify’s Global Head of Creative Artist Partnerships, Ashley Graver, “Spotify has long celebrated artist milestones and we wanted to find a unique way to honor the artists and songs fans can’t stop listening to.” She adds that, “The Billions Club playlist is a natural evolution of the plaques you have seen from multiple artists, and we are excited to give fans a one-stop destination to enjoy some of the most streamed songs in the world.”

In addition to the Billions Club playlist, Spotify put together a video which shares how various artists have celebrated when learning about reaching this milestone. Some artists have previously commemorated this achievement by posting on social media and showing off their plaques – some by even eating off of it. Joe Jonas, for example, ate McDonalds off his plaque, and Halsey munched on some Cheetos and candy. Spotify has been making moves this year with the launch of this new playlist in addition to adding livestream events to artist pages and their partnership with Drift for tickets to a virtual concert series.
