Whenever I think of South Carolina, I picture sunsets at a beach without a worry in the world. While Chris Buxton’s home town is right on the border of North and South Carolina, the point stands — his recent single, “OLIVIA” brings a breezy and calming consistency that is extremely addictive.

Buxton’s first release since March follows the highly catchy two-song pack called “GOOD THINGS DON’T LAST.” I’d consider this somewhat of a paradox because Chris Buxton is great, and I have full faith he will last in the music industry. As I was saying, “OLIVIA” has a grand aesthetic that is great from start to finish. The track starts with him singing with a childlike tone that reminds me of something Frank Ocean would do. It transitions into a beautiful pre-chorus that builds into a pleasing chorus that has been stuck in my head since I first listened.

I can’t get enough of Chris Buxton’s music, and he has been on repeat since I first heard his music. The South Carolina native will be around for awhile and I can’t wait to hear how he progresses through his career.
