Real Topeka People Releases Indie Bop “Insecurities”

If you’re in need of a new feel-good song, look no further than Real Topeka People’s most recent single “Insecurities.” The song features refreshing vocals that compliment the upbeat instrumental brilliantly. Real Topeka People — born Zachary Wexelman — also uses relatable lyrics that discuss his insecurities to strike a note with listeners.

Real Topeka People’s sound can be described as a blend of pop, rock, and R&B – which results in a uniquely colorful end product. The St. Louis, Missouri artist has found success through TikTok where he has 12.9k followers and over 166k likes. On August 12, 2021, Wexelman posted a TikTok titled “How to make indie dance music,” the song shown in the video was “Insecurities.” The TikTok blew up, raking in 104k likes and 3.1 million views. This resulted in a deal to release the song with Universal Music Enterprises under an exclusive license.

One week after releasing “Insecurities,” the song has racked up over 21k streams on Spotify and has been added to Spotify’s “New Pop Picks” playlist.
