Since beginning his career in 2015, TroyBoi has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the trap EDM genre. Known in the community for his consistent work ethic and creative drive, TroyBoi has collaborated with some of the world's biggest stars, such as Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, and Skrillex. The British born artist returns for his first release in 2023 with a new objective to unite cultures through genre blending in “Yalla.”

Sticking to his niche as a bass booming trap artist, “Yalla” opens up with the gut instinct of a trap banger with echoing church bells ringing and a synth siren reminiscent of "Kill Bill." As a deep bass enters the soundscape, TroyBoi hints at a big drop coming as tension rises. Upon the drop, it becomes clear he is pushing his sound further with heavy inspiration from middle-eastern dance music. He leads with the persian scale in a string synth that utilizes half steps and chromaticism into a catchy melody. The drop gets the bounce it needs through dramatic string melodies and experimental sound modules, combining to create a sound that he initially hinted at in “Do You?” off of his 2019 EP V!BEZ, Vol. 3.

“Yalla” is suggesting a new direction for the trap icon. With multiple releases and an EP expected in 2023, we anticipate TroyBoi to continue to explore new territories through elite sound design and endless creativity. But if one thing will remain constant, it’s that TroyBoi will be making songs to smash your head to.
