Between his intimate songwriting, strong artistic vision, and unique production style, Ben Kessler is setting the bar high with his latest release “Cruise Control.”

The track centers around finding a balance between worrying about the future and trusting that everything will work itself out. Kessler’s songwriting is incredibly intimate, admitting that his own ambition and dreams are paired with a fear of change and uncertainty. “Cruise Control” hears Kessler attempt to make peace with the future before he arrives there. The video, directed by Josefine Cardoni, brilliantly provides a visual representation of the overwhelming and isolating experience Kessler sings of in “Cruise Control.” Kessler is seen transitioning between moments of calm and stillness to sprinting tirelessly towards the unknown.

Drawing inspiration from artists including Flume, Bon Iver, and James Blake, Kessler’s lyricism and production live somewhere between the pop, alternative, and electronic genres. The debut single off his upcoming EP, “Cruise Control” proves Kessler is paving his own lane in music and is worth keeping an eye on.
