Though gone are the halcyon days of bumping “Taylor Gang” and “Black and Yellow”, 2021 brings forth a new era full of promising artists and innovative sounds. Among these new artists is Pittsburgh-based rapper Fedd the God, who comes to us this month as a newly-signed artist on the Taylor Gang roster itself. You may know him from one of his last singles “No Limit” which released earlier this year – but whether or not this is your first introduction to the young Taylor Gang icon, you may find yourself instantly keeping your eye on him. With four singles under his belt leading up to his debut EP Speed Racer (dropping later this week!), Fedd the God is quickly revitalizing the phrase “TGOD”, while dropping some bangers in the process.

With a thunderous mix full of booming 808s and mechanical hi-hats, Fedd the God did not come to play on “Yea Yup.” With an energetic and menacing flow akin to Key Glock or Tee Grizzley, Fedd drops bars like “I just took another shot of Hennessy / Every time I drop a track, I know these bitches feelin’ me” with his signature intensity. Featuring a verse from the Taylor Gang legend himself, Wiz Khalifa also appears on “Yea Yup” to give what may be one of his best performances since Blacc Hollywood. The two trade flows effortlessly, weaving in and out of each other's performances that in a way, make it difficult to tell where Fedd ends and Wiz begins. One thing is for certain though – the track is hard, and definitely a strong dose of what 2021 needed most. Whether or not you’ve stayed on top of the Taylor Gang roster, this is definitely a release you won’t want to miss. Once it is safe to go out to clubs again, you can find me begging the DJ to play Fedd the God.
